Sex Therapy

Sex and intimacy are core elements of the human experience, and everyone has fantasies, feelings and desires regarding sex. However, because of the complexities surrounding these issues, sex and intimacy are difficult topics to discuss. Sex and intimacy are tightly woven together within a relationship. It is not uncommon to find that people struggling with communication and conflict within their relationship also suffer from sexual concerns. If things are going well in your life, sex may feel effortless – easy and natural. However, if things are not going well, sex and intimacy (or lack thereof) can be a source of strain, eating away at your self-esteem and a constant source of pain and frustration.

Who hasn’t at one point or another, wondered if their sexual desires are strange, socially unacceptable or even downright offensive? What person hasn’t at one point or another wondered whether they’re pleasing their lover? Who hasn’t feared taking off their “sexual mask” for fear of being rejected by a partner? Many people find it difficult to feel comfortable with their own sexuality. And if you add another person (or more) to that picture, sex and sexuality can be overwhelming, scary and sometimes even inflammatory topics to address.

As a Certified Sex Therapist, I specialize in working with both relational and sexual concerns. I offer clients a safe, accepting and affirming environment in which to address and process sexuality as it relates to you and your partner(s). My goal is to help clients explore, define and embrace their sexuality so they feel more comfortable discussing their sexual proclivities and ultimately, feel more comfortable in their own skin. Whether you are looking to communicate your desires more openly to your partner, develop your gender and/or sexual identity, rejuvenate sexual heat or even spice up your sex life, I have the knowledge, skill and desire to help.
